Master Nouri is a 4th Dan Black Belt and teaches classes in LondonMaster Nouradin Nouri, 4th Dan, has run classes in the Hendon area of London for over 10 years. He started practising Taekwondo in Morocco in 1980 and was national champion in 1983 and 1984. He was chosen to join the Moroccan national team where he trained under some of the best Korean masters such as Kim Yung and took part in many local and national competitions. He was in the selected team for the Seoul world championships in 1985 but had to withdraw due to an unfortunate sparring injury 10 days before leaving for South Korea. Master Nouri left the team in 1987 when he accepted a place as an international private bodyguard. The busy travelling work schedule left him no time to train for the following 6 years but, after settling down in London, he started practising again under the former Malaysian champion Master Lye and took part in various competitions around the country until 2000. Master Nouri opened classes in different areas of North West London and carried on the ‘Ewest Club’ started by Master Lye. He was recently interviewed about his Taekwondo experience by one of his black belt students. The short documentary can be found on Youtube under the title: ‘Taekwondo – The Way Of The Foot And Fist’ by Amirkaran. Last Updated ( Monday, 16 August 2010 13:28 ) |

2010 English Championship Spectacular
The UK Chung Do Kwan Taekwondo ‘English Championships’ held in June at the Keynsham Leisure Centre in Keynsham, near Bath & North East Somerset proved a spectacular success with hundreds of participants and spectators turning out to support the event.
Once again, there were categories for everyone including Point Sparring, WTF style Sparring and Patterns, although the vast majority of competitors had entered the WTF style Kyorugi (sparring) divisions. The day commenced at 8.00am and teams came from all over the UK, including Northern Ireland to do battle for UK Chung Do Kwan English titles. Throughout the day instructors, coaches, competitors and spectators praised the organisation of the event and the friendly manner in which it was run. On hand was National Team Coach; Master Mike McGavin 7th Dan, who was assessing individuals for possible inclusion on the national squad, and there is no doubt that a number of talented individuals came to his attention.
There were some absolutely great bouts throughout the day, in all divisions, and we would like to thank all competitors, officials, coaches and supporters who helped make the day a huge success.
